  3. 3If Android asks, allow “Install unknown apps” for your browser or Files app — this is normal for apps installed outside the Play Store.

Watch Netflix & Prime in sync — right in your browser

Streaming services can’t play inside the web app page, so the WatchParty Together browser extension opens them in a real tab (on your own account) and keeps that tab’s video in lockstep with the whole room. The host’s play / pause / seek drives everyone; participants just follow along — voice and video chat keep running in the app tab.

Works with Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, Hulu, Max, JioHotstar and Crunchyroll — the same sync protocol as the mobile apps, over your existing room.

🧩 Installing the browser extension

  1. 1Download the extension zip above and unzip it somewhere you’ll remember (e.g. your Downloads folder).
  2. 2In Chrome / Edge / Brave, open chrome://extensions.
  3. 3Turn on Developer mode (top-right toggle).
  4. 4Click Load unpacked and select the unzipped extension folder.
  5. 5Open the web app, join a room, and tap a streaming tile — it opens in a synced tab. 🎬

The extension never touches your login or DRM — each viewer watches on their own account; only playback commands are shared with the room.
